Interior Work Continues on Mixed-Use Development at 2145 S Halsted Street in Pilsen

Interior work is underway on a four-story mixed-use development at 2145 S Halsted Street in Pilsen. The interior lot is located along S Halsted Street between W Cermak Road and W 21st Place. The nearest public transportation is the 21 CTA bus accessed at the Cermak and Halsted stop at the end of the block. Vision Group Investments LLC is in charge of the development.

Designed by 360 Design Studio, the four-story building will include residential units and commercial space. The ground floor of the project will hold mercantile space, while the upper three floors will contain six residential units. The building features masonry construction and hosts five parking spaces for residents.

Recent photos show that construction has moved inside since our last update. The masonry structure is complete, with windows installed. Small balconies on the sides of the front façade are framed using a metal structure, and await their railings. Their doors are installed, yet lack door hardware. The ground-floor storefront windows are installed, with entries to the building secured. The interior of the ground floor has stud framing installed.

The Halsted CTA L station, serviced by the Orange Line, is the nearest stop, a ten-minute walk away. The 21 CTA bus route, accessed at the Cermak and Halsted stop, is within a one-minute walk from the site.

JPL Development LLC is the contractor in charge of the construction for the $2 million development. Construction originally began in May 2020 after receiving permits, with completion expected for Spring 2021.

  1. The herringbone brick inlays on the spandrels is a nice touch. This is much nicer design than the typical 4 story brick buildings that have those large recessed balconies fronting the street.

  2. It looks like a well constructed building. A definite improvement to the area. Has public transportation on the corner and its 10 minutes from the loop.
