Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story residential building and a detached frame garage at 2121 W Barry Avenue in West Lakeview. The lot is owned by Real View Design & Development.
While it is not known what will replace the structures, the property is zoned for RS-3, allowing for two-flats and single-family residences. The maximum Floor Area Ratio is 0.9, meaning that the square footage of any replacing development cannot exceed 90 percent of the lot’s area.
CTA buses in the neighborhood includes a four-minute walk northeast to stops at Belmont & Hoyne, with service for the east and westbound Route 77. Meanwhile, the north and southbound Route 50 can be found a six-minute walk southeast to Damen & Wellington. Additional routes include 49 and X9 to the northwest, as well as Route 76 access to the southeast. For closest CTA L availability, both the Addison and Paulina Station along the Brown Line can each be found a 20-minute walk northeast.
Access the nine-acre Hamlin Park with various outdoor activities can also be found steps to the west.
Evergreen Solution USA is serving as the project’s wrecking contractor. No timeline details have yet been listed.
