Demolition permits have been issued for a 1.5-story residential building located in Bucktown. While it is unclear what specifically the owner, Joseph Del Preto, has planned for the lot, the site’s zoning designation of RS-3 would allow for up two two-flats and single-family homes.

The to-be-replaced structure consists of a brick gabled building with a basement level underneath. The lot lies near several CTA bus options, the closest of which are north and southbound stops for Route 50, less than a two-minute walk northwest to the intersection of Damen & Cortland. The additional 73 bus can be boarded via a four-minute walk northwest to Armitage & Damen. Additional routes within a 10-minute walking radius include stops to the southwest for Route 56, while the 72 bus is accessible to the south.

Nearest CTA L access for the Blue Line, meanwhile, consists of a 10-minute walk south to Damen station.

Easily accessible outdoor spaces can also be found nearby, such as 1.4-acre Churchill Field Park, located steps to the south. From Churchill Field is also an entrance to the elevated park known as The 606, which spans both east and west.

Land Enterprises is serving as the wrecking contractor. No other permits have been issued or filed, and timeline details have yet to be released.
