Permits have been issued for a four-story residential building at 2958 N Lincoln Avenue in Lake View. While the 2958 number does not mark an official structure currently, it is likely the development will replace two low-rise mixed-use buildings at the 2956 and 2960 N Lincoln Avenue addresses.
The adjacent sites are located southeast from the triple intersection of the N Lincoln, N Southport, and W Wellington Avenues. The nearest bus transit includes a five-minute walk south to the Diversey & Lakewood stop on route 76 and a six-minute walk west to the Ashland & Wellington stop on route 9. For Purple and Brown Line CTA L access, the closest station is Wellington station, an 11-minute walk east. The nearest Red Line access is via Belmont station, a 16-minute walk northeast.
Along the N Lincoln Park commercial corridor running northwest and southeast are recreational areas Wrightwood Park, Jonquil Park, and Wiggly Field Dog Park, each within a 15-minute walk. Lastly, DuPaul University’s campus is also a 17-minute walk south.
The owner, listed under 2955 Southport Series, is planning retail on the ground floor, with 11 units distributed across the remaining three levels above. Other features include a three- and eight-parking space garage, an elevator penthouse, and multiple rooftop decks integrated into the top of the structure.
The architect of record is John C Hanna of Hanna Architects. Renderings have not yet been revealed for the project, however masonry contractor entries on the permit issued suggest either a stone or brick facade.
BM Builders is the general contractor for the projected $2,160,000 construction. A completion date has not yet been announced.

Update on this “luxury” build: it’s currently 48 degrees in the hallway. The builder is completely okay with this.
