Permits have been issued for 2140 N Claremont Avenue in Bucktown, slated to be a three-story residential building.
The site sits at the corner of N Claremont Avenue and an unnamed alley that connects to N Western Avenue to the west. One block east is the 2.5-acre Holstein Park, consisting of multiple recreational venues such as a playground, a public pool, and a grass field. The nearest accessible bus transit consists of Route 49’s Western & Palmer, a two-minute walk northwest. Meanwhile, the CTA L includes nearby access to the Blue Line’s Western station, an eight-minute walk south. N Milwaukee Avenue runs past Western station, offering a variety of dining, bar, and retail options in both directions.
SRD Development LLC is listed as the owner with plans to divide the building into a dual-unit setup, while incorporating features such as a basement, a rooftop deck, a garage for two cars, and a three-story rear porch. The architect of record is Alan Leskiv of Leader Architects.
SRD Development will also serve as the general contractor for the project, with estimated construction costs upwards of $40,000. No renderings have been revealed and a planned completion date has not yet been released.
