Two apartment buildings, at 5015 and 5019 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square, have come back to life after a long pause. Financial problems for the original developer stalled the projects after construction had begun on a pair of three-story, six-unit residential buildings, plus an additional foundation to the north of those. The site had become somewhat of a makeshift graffiti artists’ studio until developer Lynda Wu stepped into the picture.

On December 20 of last year, two revision permits — one for 5015 N Lincoln Ave and one for 5019 N Lincoln Ave– were issued by the City of Chicago, officially turning the construction site over to Lynda Wu. Northshore Development Group was named the general contractor as well as new contractors for most additional aspects of the build.

Now called The Trieuth at Lincoln Square, significant progress has been made on the two apartment buildings, while the halted foundation next to them has been torn out and smoothed over for a near-future residential project. As for the two current buildings, they’ll each feature six units, with three- and four-bedroom layouts, plus balconies overlooking Lincoln Avenue. Roof decks will top both buildings, and each will have four indoor and four outdoor parking spaces. The three-bedroom units will be 1,600 square feet each and occupy the top two floors. The four-bedroom units will be 2,800 square feet each and occupy both ground and basement levels.

Residents of these two apartment buildings will have bus service for Route 11 right outside their doors. Route 92 bus three blocks to the north, while Routes 49 and 49B stop just over a block to the east. Route 11 can be used to connect to the Western Brown Line platform about six blocks south.

Not bad, LC. In that same vein, their marketing slogan could be, “Trieuth, you’ll like uth”

  3. Fits in with the other architectural horrors on that stretch of Lincoln!
