The project is being spearheaded by the Chicago Cubs and Marquee Development, whose new wing of the iconic stadium comes as a result of a recent reversal of the city’s sports betting ban. This new ordinance has led to five total professional sports stadiums throughout the city now integrating their own betting operations.

Wrigley Field Sportsbook Addition Tops Out in Lake View

Structural steel has reached its full height for a three-story addition to Wrigley Field in Lake View, having been co-planned by the Chicago Cubs and Marquee Development. Connected to the original stadium, this new 22,000-square-foot enclosure at 1012 W Addison Street will house a Draftkings sportsbook betting venue along with multiple dining options, replacing the former Captain Morgan Club (later the Fantasy Draftkings Sports Zone) at the southeast corner of the stadium block. The project comes at the heels of City Council’s recent reversal of its sports betting ban, thereby greenlighting such operations at Chicago’s five professional stadiums.

Foundation Work Underway for Wrigley Field Addition at 1012 W Addison Street in Lake View

Initial foundation work is visible at the triangular parcel along the southeast corner of Wrigley Field, which will give way to a three-story DraftKings sportsbook and various dining options. Co-developed by the Chicago Cubs and Marquee Development, this 22,350-square-foot addition at 1012 W Addison Street will replace the former Captain Morgan Club, which later became the Fantasy DraftKings Sports Zone.
