Foundation Pile Permit Issued For Chicago Fire Stadium In The South Loop

The first permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to begin construction on the Chicago Fire’s new stadium in the South Loop. Assigned to the address of 1331 South Wells Street, the permit allows for piles to be driven for the stadium. More specifically, piles for vertical penetration only, for the four-story soccer stadium’s foundations. The permit came through the Chicago Data Portal on Friday, March 20 with a reported cost of $5 million. It had been pending since October 24.

Chicago Plan Commission Approves Rezoning For Chicago Fire FC Stadium At The 78

The Chicago Plan Commission on Thursday approved rezoning to allow construction of the new 22,000-seat soccer stadium for the Chicago Fire Football Club that team owner Joe Mansueto wants to build in The 78 neighborhood of the South Loop. Zoning Committee and full City Council approval are the next steps toward getting shovels in the ground.

Additional Renderings And Details Revealed For Chicago Fire FC Stadium

The Chicago Fire FC have revealed additional renderings and details of their upcoming stadium within The 78. Located between West 13th and 14th Streets, the stadium is set to finally anchor the long-stalled megadevelopment. The project is being led by the team in partnership with The 78’s developer, Related Midwest, with architecture firm Gensler responsible for the design.

Stadium Plans Revealed For Chicago Fire FC In The 78

Initial details have been revealed for the new home of Chicago Fire FC within The 78. Located on the northern half of the site, the stadium will create a permanent home for the team, which relocated to Soldier Field from Bridgeview in recent years. Efforts for the mixed-use development are being led by the team’s owner, Joe Mansueto, and Related Midwest.
