The City of Chicago has officially selected 1Fifteen at Michigan Station as the winner of the Roseland Michigan Avenue RFQ. The selection comes nearly three years after the RFQ was initially issued in 2022 under the Invest South/West initiative. The development will replace a large vacant lot at the corner of Michigan Avenue and E 115th Street.
The Resurrection Project received four more construction permits on June 2 to build single-family homes in Back of the Yards. Including the six projects permitted last month, that brings the total to ten new homes in this neighborhood of the New City Community Area approved over the past five weeks.
Three affordable single-family residences were permitted Tuesday by the City of Chicago on South Aberdeen Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. The Resurrection Project is the developer of the new homes, as well as several others in the neighborhood that have already been authorized or have permits pending in the Chicago Data Portal. Deon Lucas of Beehyyve is the architect of record, with Toro Construction Corp of Orland Park named as the general contractor.
A caisson permit has been issued for the property at 11040 South Doty Avenue in Pullman, allowing work to begin on a four-story, 100-room hotel. The Pullman Hotel Group is the recipient of the permit, which was applied for on June 13 of last year and issued on April 29. A pending full building permit in the Chicago Data Portal shows an application date of November 4, 2024. This first permit shows a reported cost of $600,000 for caisson work.
Formal proposals have been revealed for the city’s Roseland Michigan Avenue RFQ.
