A Midlothian, IL developer erecting a three-flat residential building on the 4800 block of South Michigan Avenue in Grand Boulevard has received a permit to add one more on the corner of the lot. Genesis Construction Management Corp got permission on July 29 to construct a three-story plus basement, three-unit building at 4800 South Michigan. The permit had been pending for 68 days before coming through with a reported cost of $858,600. Genesis will be their own general contractor, working with plans by Guider Group LLC.

Details in the permit include rear metal porches and a three-car parking slab. An identical permit was issued on August 9, 2024 for another three-flat; Street View images from October of last year show that building under construction. There are no other pending permits for the vacant spaces between these two new projects, but a billboard on the site visible in those Google images led us to a website that shows row of four three-unit buildings on the site. They are being marketed as Michigan Avenue Pointe.

4800 South Michigan is directly across the street from the hall Branch of the Chicago Public Library. Public transportation is conveniently located with north-south Route 29 and east-west Route 47 buses each within a two-block walk. The 47th Green Line elevated platform is a three-block walk to the northeast. The 47th Red Line platform is a little over half a mile to the west at the Dan Ryan Expressway, but the #47 bus can be used as a connection.
