Construction Completed for Condo Building at 1802 S State Street in South Loop

Construction has wrapped up for Episteme Luxury‘s four-story residential building at 1802 S State Street, located in South Loop. Financed by Heartland Bank, the project consists of 39 condominium residences across 23 different floor plans, comprising of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.

The building will come with a common amenity area on the ground floor, as well as a shared rooftop deck. Additional private rooftop deck spaces will be provided to residents occupying the fourth floor.

Each unit will come with 10-foot-high ceilings, private outdoor space, wide red oak floors, large open windows, and large closets with custom organizers. Kitchens will be finished with quartz countertops, breakfast bars, upgradeable appliances, and stainless steel sink mounts. The bathrooms will also incorporate quartz countertops, modern fixtures, and porcelain floor and wall tiles.

Currently available units range from $375,000 for a north-facing two-bedroom residence with two bathrooms and a balcony, to $535,000 for a southwest-facing three-bedroom home with two bathrooms and a deck.

SPACE Architects + Planners is behind the design, which includes a brick and metal panel facade above a tan masonry base. The structure also includes interior light wells between units.

While each resident will have access to on-site heated parking, accessible public transit includes north and southbound bus stops for Routes 29 and 62, located at the adjacent State & 18th Street intersection. Route 24 can also be found via a three-minute walk west at Clark & 18th. Additional stops within a 10-minute walking radius include Route 21 to the southwest, as well as Routes 1, 3, 4, and 12 to the northeast.

Those wishing to access the CTA L can find the Red Line at Cermak-Chinatown station, a seven-minute walk southwest. The Green Line can be found at Cermak McCormick Place station, located a seven-minute walk south. Lastly, the Red, Green, and Orange Lines are all available at Roosevelt station, a 15-minute walk north.

Outdoor spaces nearby include Margaret Hie Ding Lin Park, Fred Anderson Dog Park, the Chicago Women’s Park & Garden, and Cotton Tail Park.

YRL Builders LLC is the general contractor for the now-complete $12 million construction.
