Recent photos show rapid progress on window installation and masonry cladding for a seven-story mixed-use building located at 300 W Division Street in Near North Side. The developer The Domain Group has planned retail space on the ground floor, with 89 total apartments above. Of the units, 65 will be single bedrooms, while the remaining 24 will be studio apartments. A parking garage will also be integrated into the rear end of the structure, though the exact number of spaces is not currently known.
Vari Architects is behind the 100,000-square-foot structure, comprised of a red-brick facade with gray masonry finishes and four-paned windows.
Residents will find nearest bus access via adjacent east and westbound stops for Route 70, while other buses in the vicinity include Route 37 to the southwest and Routes 22 and 156 to the east. For the CTA L, the Red Line can be found at Clark/Division Street station, a four-minute walk east. The Brown and Purple Lines meanwhile have two stations within walking distance; Sedgwick station a 13-minute walk northwest, and Chicago station a 13-minute walk southwest.
Parks within the area include Seward Park nearby to the west, Washington Park to the southeast, and the southern edge of the sprawling Lincoln Park located to the north. The dining-heavy Old Town corridor also begins less than a two-minute walk east at Division & Wells.
The Domain Group is also serving as general contractor for the $9 million project. A worker on site mentioned that move-ins should begin in approximately nine months.
