Two residential units are being built in a new construction three-story building at 3252 North Racine Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. Masonry work covers the exterior of the first floor as it reaches the underside of the second level.
Developed by The Alverna Group, 3252 N Racine will have a basement beneath its two dwelling units, as well as a detached two-vehicle garage at the rear of the property. A rooftop enclosure will adorn the residential building, while a separate roof deck will top the garage. Desmond Builders is the general contractor, with Vari Architects as the architect of record.
The new construction permit was issued on October 17 of last year, followed shortly by a demolition permit on October 19, 2023.
Residents of these two units will live less than two blocks north of bus service for Route 77 stops at Belmont and Racine, which can be used to connect with the Belmont Red/Brown/Purple Line station less than half a mile east. The Southport Brown Line station is less than a half-mile walk northwest.
