Construction at 633 S LaSalle Street in the South Loop area has progressed, with structural work nearing the halfway mark. This 18-floor residential building, undertaken by The Collective, is being developed on a site that was formerly a surface parking lot. The design of the building is tailored for co-living, comprising 117 apartment suites with a capacity to accommodate up to 381 residents.
Each suite in the building is designed for occupancy by multiple individuals, offering private bedrooms alongside shared communal spaces. A single monthly payment for occupants will include utilities, rent, furnishings, and linens.
The building features several amenities, including a co-working space, a rooftop fitness area, and an open-air terrace. Facilities for bicycle storage are provided, along with parking for just six vehicles.
The architectural design, crafted by FitzGerald Associates, stands at approximately 230 feet in height. It features a facade composed of light and dark brickwork, textured concrete finishes, I-beam floor slip covers, and recessed balconies.
For nearby transportation, bus services for Routes 2, 6, 22, 24, 29, 36, 62, and 146 are accessible within a five-minute walk. For rail services, the Blue Line at LaSalle station is a four-minute walk north, and the Red Line at Harrison station is a six-minute walk east.
The construction project is managed by Clark Construction, with a completion date targeting 2025.

Has anybody seen the construction site active recently? Somebody on skyscraperpage suggested that this project was stalled due to funding and when I passed by last week the crane seemed to be dormant. Though I don’t spend a lot of time in the area.
Yes they there hasn’t been work performed on the site in about a week and a half, I live across from the construction site
That’s too bad. I hope they can get back on track soon. Thanks for the info.
I was on that job. The owner wasn’t paying the contractor. It’s shut down till further notice
This project is on hold due to lack of funding. Hasn’t moved since October.
