Exterior Walls Take Shape for Sportsbook Addition at Wrigley Field

Curtain wall facets can be seen taking shape along the exterior of 1012 W Addison Street, a new three-story sportsbook betting addition to Wrigley Field in Lake View. The project is being spearheaded by the Chicago Cubs and Marquee Development, whose new wing of the iconic stadium comes as a result of a recent reversal of the city’s sports betting ban. This new ordinance has led to five total professional sports stadiums throughout the city now integrating their own betting operations.

This 22,000-square-foot enclosure at 1012 W Addison Street is connected to the original stadium and will serve as Draftkings’ sportsbook betting venue. It will also have multiple dining options and replace the former Captain Morgan Club (later the Fantasy Draftkings Sports Zone) located at the southeast corner of the stadium block.

The new structure, which was designed by Gensler, will add to the stadium’s current aesthetic while also providing its own modern frontage. The third level will be set back to accommodate a rooftop deck for lounging and dining.

The closest transit options are the Route 152 bus and the Red Line at Addison station, both within a one-minute walk to the east. Additionally, there is also Route 22 bus service at Clark & Addison less than a two-minute walk to the west.

The $9 million construction is being carried out by Pepper Construction as general contractor, with a completion date anticipated for finish around the end of this year.
