With much of the foundation work now in place, steel beams have been spotted at 812 W Adams Street in West Loop, the site of a new seven-story mixed-use development by Luxe Suites Chicago. The project will include 80 for-rent apartments and 4,200 square feet of retail, which will replace three low-rise buildings on the southernmost part of the block.
The design for the new building was created by Axios Architects and Consultants, and will include features such as multi-shade masonry cladding, bay window protrusions, and private glass and metal balconies that cantilever outward.
The development will have 27 on-site parking spaces in a ground-level garage, as well as numerous public transit options nearby. The closest bus service can be found for both Routes 8 and 20 within a one-block radius, while the closest CTA transit can be found for either the Blue Line via a seven-minute walk south to UIC-Halsted station or a 14-minute walk northwest to Morgan station.
With Structures Construction LLC is already serving as its general contractor, a full completion timeline has still not been revealed. However, vertical construction appears on track to begin prior to the end of this year.

Wait, is this going to be steel frame and not reinforced concrete?
