Demolition permits have been issued for 516-518 W Arlington Place in Lincoln Park, where property owner and developer Contemporary Concepts plans to demolish an existing multi-unit residential building. Viewpoint Services, Inc. will serve as the demolition contractor for the three-story masonry structure.
The lot resides less than a block west of N Clark Street, which contains a variety of retail, dining, and other commercial offerings. The North Pond section of Lincoln Park can also be found less than a five-minute walk east from the property.
As for nearby transit, bus routes 22 and 36 both stop at the Clark & Arlington intersection, a one-minute walk east from the site. Bus routes 134, 143, 151, and 156 can also be accessed via a five-minute walk northeast to the Stockton & Roslyn stop, located within the park itself. The Brown, Purple, and Red Lines can be accessed via the CTA L Fullerton station, a 13-minute walk west.
Additional points of interest include the dense Lincoln Avenue corridor, just a nine-minute walk west of the property. DuPaul University’s campus can also be found via a 14-minute walk southwest.
Contemporary Concepts has not indicated what the replacing structure will look like or who the architect will be, but zoning for the property is listed as RM-6, under which a more dense multi-unit residential building with no capped height can be built. The zoning map also shows an appeal for the property, though the requested change or changes have not been disclosed.
No timeline for the project has yet been revealed.
