A permit was approved earlier this week for a new three-story residential building to be located at 4433 S Prairie Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. The owner is listed as James Nahon and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with a rear open porch. Additionally, the permits include a detached three-car garage. The development will replace a vacant lot. Nahon has been issued several permits for this area some of which we have previously reported upon.
As with previous projects owned by Nahon, Gary Wands was listed as the architect of record. Plans indicate a masonry facade although drawings and renderings have yet to be disclosed.
Future residents will find that the closest bus service available is Route 3 at King Drive & 45th Street via a five-minute walk southeast. The CTA Green Line can also be accessed nearby at the 43rd Street station via a five-minute walk north. There are many retail, dining, and lodging options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along E 43rd Street.
Allbright Construction LLC will act as the general contractor for the $450,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
