A permit was approved yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 2740 W Jackson Boulevard in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as Happy River LLC, and the current plans indicate this project will yield three total dwelling units and will have a finished basement. The property will be fenced, with an iron fence at the front of the building and a wooden fence in the rear. The project will also feature a three-car parking pad at the rear. The lot is currently vacant.
Victor Drapszo is listed as the architect of record. At the time of this writing, no drawings or renderings have been disclosed.
The closest bus service available is Route 94 and can be found at California & Jackson via a short one-minute walk west. The nearest CTA L access is for the Green Line at the California station which is an 11-minute walk north. There are a number of local businesses along nearby W Van Buren Street.
Hancock Management & Construction will act as the general contractor for the $300,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
