Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 2401 S State Street in the Near South Side. The project site is located at the southeast corner of S State Street and E 24th Street. The nearest public transportation is the 29 CTA bus accessed at the State and 24th stop at the corner of the site. The Cermak-McCormick Place CTA L station, serviced by the Green Line, is a six-minute walk away. Real estate developer City Pads is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting a development cost of $4,000,000.
The building will be entirely residential space, with 19 units within. Tenants will have access to ten vehicle parking spaces as well as 33 bicycle parking spaces.
Arden Freeman of BuiltForm Collective is listed as the architect for the project. ANKA Builders & Construction LLC is listed as the general contractor.
The site currently sits empty, so demolition permits will most likely not be necessary. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

Permits filed are the incorrect verbiage for all of these stories. The permits were issued, not just files. The filing would have happened a long time ago. Saying they were filed instead of issued is misleading.
