Pro Homes will redevelop the site, using plans drawn up by Michael Cox & Associates. On the way is a three-story plus basement, three-unit masonry building with a detached masonry three-car garage. Both structures will be topped by roof decks and pergolas, with Pro Homes performing their own general contracting work. It is not yet clear if these will be for-sale condominium units or rental apartments.

A demolition permit awaits in the data portal as of March 30. According to a property listing from Sotheby’s, the building was erected in 1895, and was recently sold for $1,050,000. Per Block Club’s reporting, the owners of Paddy Long’s decided during the pandemic to change their format, renovating the space into Max & Issy’s Pizzeria. They closed in March of this year after closing a deal to sell the property.

  1. Shame that there won’t be retail at that spot anymore.

    • Eh, there’s no other retail in the 14 lots to the west, & 5 lots to the east, so it’s not like it is disrupting a corridor or anything.

      • Corridors are so overrated IMHO. This could have been a nice cafe or something that residents could walk to. This part of Diversey could use a lot more retail for being a main street.

  2. I had a lot of fun times at that bar, and it’s previous names, over the years!
