A Chicago developer that received permits to build four two-flat buildings on the first block of West 44th Street in Bronzeville in February 2025 got permits to erect three more this week. Greenline Homes is the recipient of the permits, which all show application dates of March 18. They came through just 13 days later on the 31st, with each permit showing a reported cost of $440,144.

Assigned to the addresses of 11, 15, and 19 West 44th Street, each permit calls for a two-story plus basement, two-unit building. There will be detached two-car garages built at the back of each lot, accessed from the alley that leads into the Savoy Square development. No other details are given. Hanna Architects is the design architect.

The three new identical permits are exactly the same as the four that were issued on February 14, 2025 for four lots across the street at 12, 16, 18, and 20 West 44th Street. Currently, each of those four addresses has a pending permit since February 2 of this year to install solar panels on the roofs of the dwelling structures.

Residents will live about four blocks away from the 47th Red Line elevated platform at 47th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway. CTA bus service is available two blocks east, where Route 29 stops along State Street, and two blocks north, where the Route 43 and Route 24 buses make stops. Route 47 buses stop three blocks south on 47th Street.
