A residential six-flat has been permitted for construction at 2424 West 25th Street in the Marshall Square neighborhood. Halo Masonry & Construction of Glenview is the recipient of the permit, which they applied for on December 30. They were granted permission on February 27, with a reported cost of $750,000 for the work to be done.

The ground-up frame building was designed by architect Kathryn Shahbaz Obrien, and Halo will do their own general contracting work. The permit does not specify the number of stories in the building, but since it refers to a six-flat, it is presumed to be three stories. No details are presented for the structure besides it having a new foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, all standard features for new construction.

A concrete pad at the rear of the parcel will provide an unspecified number of parking spaces, and fencing of unspecified height and materials will enclose the property. Parking will be accessed from a dogleg alley off 25th Street that turns at a right angle to the rear of the lot before coming to a dead end at the passing BNSF tracks.
