Peerless Development of Elmhurst, IL is building a five-story, 44-unit residential project designed by SPACE Architects + Planners. There will be studio units, plus one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts of the four upper floors. At street level, a 22-space parking garage will be accessed from the alley, while 3,500 square feet of retail space will be included along Milwaukee Avenue. Bicycle storage and a small residential lobby will fill out the first floor.

  1. They’re really taking their sweet time with this one. The Mike’s Furniture multi-lot redevelopment on Ashland feels like went up in half the time.

  2. This is a nice project. It has been cool to see this stretch of Milwaukee Ave fill in with greater density.

I am curious, on Google Maps it looks like a building is under construction across the street from this one, 1889 N Milwaukee Ave? Will this also be a five-story?

  3. Amazing how dead Milwaukee Ave is between Western and California.

I’m pretty sure the stalled Congress theatre renovation/redevelopment is to blame. Once (or if) that gets completed, I think there will be some movement on development. The massive lot the vacant CVS is on is a huge hole as well.
