Bound by Hobbie Street to the south, Cambridge Avenue to the west, Cleveland Avenue to the east, and Wayman AME Church to the north, the new development covers most of the block.

The eight-story, 69-unit building on Hobbie Street (B22) has been assembled to its maximum height. Meanwhile, three two-story townhomes on Cleveland Avenue are being constructed, while the trio that will be added along Cambridge Avenue have not yet begun. The U-shaped housing will surround a 65-space surface parking lot.

  1. Hi Daniel,
Quick question for you – have you heard/read/seen anything regarding the church on the NE corner of Cleveland and Elm? I ask because it looks like they have been restoring it (and potentially may have damaged it at one point but now it looks rehabbed in that spot). I also noticed the units on the NW side of Elm and Cambridge are all shelled in as well.

    Thanks!

    • I don’t have any update on Wayman AME Church as far as their progress.
And yeah, it looks like the building on Elm between Larrabee and Cambridge is nearing exterior completion. Just need to download windows.

  2. Why does every housing project have to look like a housing project? We tore this stuff down for a good reason.

  3. 65 surface parking spots in this location for affordable housing? What are we doing?!

    • What do you mean? Because obviously they don’t have money to pay rent but have money for everything else, including cars.

  4. The 69 (face palm) unit building looks like it was made out of legos by a drunken toddler.

  5. I need an apartment

  6. “Tolled?”
