As construction work at ground level continues on the residential development at 1880 North Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown, a permit has been issued to change a few details on the original project. On July 18, the city issued permission that the development team had applied for on April 30 to accommodate a larger transformer pad per a ComEd request. Revisions were also addressed for the first-floor garage and bike room, including the reconfiguration of parking spaces due to the larger transformer. The elevator shaft and an overhead door were also revised via the same permit.

1880 North Milwaukee is a five-story, 44-unit apartment building from Peerless Development of Elmhurst. They broke ground with general contractor Macon Construction Group in October 2024 after receiving a caisson permit in August. The full permit was issued in November, allowing completion of the SPACE Architects + Planners creation.

I’ve seen the construction under way while visiting Chicago from LA. It’s worth mentioning that there’s also the elevated pedestrian and bike path nearby.
Yes, the 606.
