A pair of single-family residences have been permitted for a triangular lot on South Lyman Street in the Bridgeport neighborhood. Both permits, for 3069 and 3073 South Lyman, were issued on January 31 after applications were filed on October 5 of last year. Treic LLC, registered in Hinsdale, is the developer, and they’ve used 360 Design Studio for architectural plans.
Both homes will be two stories, plus a basement, with detached two-car garages accessed from the alley at the back of the property. No other features are mentioned in the two permits. MPI Contracting is named as the general contractor. Construction costs are estimated at $694,000 for 3069 South Lyman, and $755,000 for 3073. The homes replace a lot that has been vacant since the structure at 3073 North Lyman was demolished back in 2016.
The lot gets its triangularity from the diagonal Lyman Street, which runs northeast to southwest, and the alley behind it, which runs east-west, parallel to 31st Street. There are stops for Route 31 buses within a one-block walk at 31st and Lock Street, as well as Route 31 and 62 buses three blocks north at Archer Avenue. The nearest elevated train is the Ashland Orange Line platform, about half a mile northwest along Ashland Avenue, just north of the Stevenson Expressway.
