The City of Chicago issued a demolition permit for a three-story residential building at 3710 N Ashland Avenue in Lake View on June 21,2024. And by Friday the 28th, the structure had been completely demolished, leaving only an empty foundation to be torn out. While many properties sit vacant with active demolition permits unattended to, this one took less than a week to meet its proverbial wrecking ball.
SitePro Services is the demolition contractor. They have removed the residence, the detached garage, and a car port from the double-wide lot, and cleared away all the demo rubble. CorEtt Builders of Chicago owns the site. This demolition clears the way for their four-story, 21-unit residential building that still awaits a zoning change.
If approved, residents of 3710 N Ashland Avenue will be able to access the Route 9, X9, and 152 buses just over one block to the south. The Addison Brown Line platform is about a five-block walk to the west. Wrigley Field is a leisurely 3/4-mile stroll to the east.
