“Star Wars” creator George Lucas, have expanded his real estate portfolio with the purchase of a $11.2 million 66th-floor penthouse in Streeterville’s 800 N Michagan Avenue building from Citadel founder Ken Griffin. They plan to merge this penthouse with their existing 65th-floor condo, bought in 2015 for $18.75 million, to create a 16,000-square-foot duplex penthouse. The total cost for this project is estimated at $33.5 million, setting a new record for Chicago’s most expensive condo. Architect Scott Fortman of Gibbons, Fortman & Associates is overseeing the design, which includes adding two new interior staircases and upgrading electrical and mechanical systems as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
800 N Michigan Avenue, also known as Park Tower, was designed by Lucien Lagrange Architects and built in 2000. The high-rise is comprised of 67 stories with 117 condos. The units are predominantly two- and three-bedrooms. Residents have access to Park Hyatt’s amenities, such as the indoor pool, health club, sun deck, NoMI Restaurant, and weekday concierge services.
Lucas has a longstanding connection to Park Tower, having previously acquired a 48th-floor unit in 2007 for $1.7 million and a 26th-floor condo for $4.9 million in 2012.

I’ve always liked Park Tower and remember watching go up 20 years or so ago. Love the sushi at NoMI too.
Also interesting that $33.5 Million is the record in Chicago when it probably wouldn’t even make the top 50 condos currently available in NYC.
You put trash on the front sidewalk.
Dude… chill. Don’t be so sensitive. It’s a silly look.
The nerd in me is jealous that someone I know is designing George Lucas’ condo.
This lends a lot of sense to why i once saw Lucas at the RL restaurant right across the street some years ago.
Considering he has Skywalker Ranch and several other properties around the country/world. This seems like an awful lot of money and space for a pied-à-terre in Chicago??
He’s married to Melody Hobson, who lives in Chicago.
Shame we did not build the Museum of Narrative Art!
