A renovation project has been approved at 1611 North Cleveland Avenue in Old Town, focusing on enhancing the safety and aesthetic appeal of a 14-dwelling unit residential building. The project, approved on February 7, is a substantial investment in maintaining the structural integrity and visual appeal of the building.
The renovation, which has an estimated budget of $50,000, involves alterations to the building’s exterior, including the replacement of the steel elevated walkways and stairs in the exterior courtyard and the replacement of exterior lintels. No interior modifications are planned within the dwelling units themselves.
Kenneth Veach is in charge of the design of the project. Buildmax Design and Construction Inc has been selected as the general contractor. Jakub Zatwarnicki will address the masonry repairs.
1611 North Cleveland Avenue is located steps from bus service for Routes 9, 37, and 72. Beyond that, the Sedgwick CTA station, which services the Brown and Purple Lines, is also a short walk from the property.
