The City of Chicago has issued a construction permit for 707 West Briar Place in Lakeview East. This new residential development, was approved on January 26, and has a budget of $2,400,000.
Designed by architect Michael Cox, the four-story masonry building is planned to house six dwelling units, along with a basement and rooftop deck. Additionally, the building will offer residents six vehicle parking stalls.
Ronan Construction LLC, serving as both the general and masonry contractor, is set to ensure that the construction meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
When complete, 707 West Briar Place will be located a short walk from bus service for Routes 8, 77, 151, and 156. Beyond that, the Belmont CTA station, which services the Brown, Red, and Purple Lines, will be an eight-minute walk to the east of the property.

Sadly, this is being demolished.
Currently the front facade is intact but you can see through the windows that the rest of the building is torn apart. Maybe the facade will remain?!? 🤞
No, the whole thing is coming down. They just haven’t gotten up to the front facade yet.
I’m at least kinda glad to see someone is saddened by this!
