A renovation project is underway at a three-unit building located at 3949 S California Avenue in Brighton Park. The project, submitted on November 17, was approved on December 14.
The renovation involves performing significant interior alterations as per the plans outlined under the 2019 Chicago Building Rehabilitation Code. The building is set to undergo architectural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical upgrades.
Architect Luis Martinez is overseeing the design of the project, and electrical work will be managed by Switch Electric. Wilson Restoration, based in Berwyn, IL, will serve as the general contractor for the renovation.
Owner Han Wu Lei is spearheading the project, which has an estimated budget of $95,000. 3949 S California Avenue is located steps from bus stops for Routes 62 and 94, and beyond that, the 35th/Archer CTA station, which services the Orange Line, is a 21-minute walk to the northeast of the property.
