A renovation permit has been approved for alterations to the existing four-story data center located at 1432 S Clinton Street in South Loop. The owner, CoreSite Real Estate CH2 LLC, will oversee the project, which involves exterior modifications to this well-established facility.
The alterations, according to the permit, include the installation of four new diesel generators on the second level. Moreover, a new chiller and cooling tower, along with their associated ancillary support framing, are to be introduced on the third and fourth levels.
Bus transit nearby includes service for Routes 12, 18, and 62 are all within a 10-minute walk north. The design for these modifications will come from the firm Corgan. The general contractor is M. A. Mortenson Company, and the total cost of the renovation is reported to be $2,000,000. An estimated date of completion has not been provided at this time.
