A permit was issued this past week for a new three-story mixed-use building located at 1040 W Taylor Street in the Near West Side neighborhood. Julia Si is listed as the permit owner for this project. Pro Architect is the architect responsible for the project’s design. The structure will have first-floor retail space and two residential apartments spread across the second and third floors respectively.
Transportation is readily accessible with the nearest bus service for Route 157 at the Taylor & Morgan stop directly in front of the future property site. The CTA Blue Line can be found at the Racine station via a 14-minute walk northwest. The property is across the street from the UIC campus and many dining and grocery options are available nearby.
TAM Construction Inc will act as the general contractor for the $450,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not been announced, however, with the release of these latest permits construction can commence.
