New permits were issued for a two-story residential building located at 712 W 26th Street in the Bridgeport neighborhood. The owners are listed as Hong Chen and Jijia He and plans indicate this project will yield a total of six units. The building will be outfitted with rear metal porches and there will be six parking spaces on site as well as new fencing surrounding the property. The lot is currently vacant.
Ghulam Kamal is listed as the architect of record. As of now, no drawings or renderings have been made public. However, the filing’s two masonry contractors suggest the building will involve a brick facade.
Future residents will have plenty of transportation options readily available on foot. The closest bus service available is Route 44, which can be found at the intersection of 26th Street & Normal which is a four-minute walk east from the lot. The CTA L Orange Line can be boarded at the Halstead station which is a six-minute walk northwest. There are a number of popular restaurants and shops along S Halstead Avenue within a few minutes of the site.
Time Development LLC will be acting as the general contractor on this project. The filing indicates that construction is expected to cost $725,000. A timeline or completion date for the project has not yet been revealed.
