A new construction permit was issued for a new three-story residential building located at 1426 W School Street in the Lake View neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as Coen Construction. Plans show that this will be a two-unit masonry building with a basement. There will also be a detached two-vehicle garage with a roof deck. The permit lists Michael S Cox as the architect of record. No renderings have been made public.
The closest bus service available can be found on Route 77 at the intersection of Belmont & Greenview via a four-minute walk south. The closest CTA L access available is the Southport station where the Brown Line can be boarded. There are a number of popular restaurants and retail options along nearby N Lincoln, Ashland, and Southport Avenues.
Coen Construction Inc is also serving as the contractor on the project which has a reported cost of $650,000. Demolition permits were issued for the property in September. At the time of this writing, it is unclear when construction will start.
