The majority of the windows have now been installed for ZSD Corp‘s “Madison + Carpenter,” a six-story condominium building at 6 N Carpenter Street in West Loop. The residential structure will contain 13 units of either four- or five-bedroom floorplans. The site had previously contained a set of single-story masonry buildings that were demolished last year.

The size of the condos will range from 2,400 to 3,800 square feet. Prices for the units range between $2 million and $3 million. The homes come with an extensive list of features, including floor-to-ceiling windows, open layouts, and large private balconies. With their bigger size, the units offer space for additional flex spaces to be used as an office, home gym, den, or children’s playroom.

SGW Architecture & Design is the project architect, whose scheme employs the use of dark metal cladding, large windows, and sprawling stacked terraces. The beam-like facade extends upward in the southeast corner as an open-air parapet.

  1. This should turn out nicely. Reduce the parking, increase units, and use this as a model for corner development at up & coming commercial strips in our neighborhoods, many of which are seeing SFH conversions or demolitions. We can more densely accommodate demand for new, high-end living space in our neighborhoods without ripping up the character.
