New permits were issued for a three-story residential building located at 3501 S Union Avenue in the Bridgeport neighborhood. The owner is listed as Henry Tam and plans indicate this project will be a three-flat with an accompanying one-story garage. The building was formerly home to Morrie O’Malley’s Hot Dogs. We reported on the demolition permit which was issued earlier this year.

Edward Yung is listed as the architect of record. As of now, no drawings or renderings have been made public. However, the filing’s two masonry contractors suggest the building will involve a brick facade.

Future residents will have plenty of transportation options readily available on foot. The closest bus service available is for Route 35, which can be found at the intersection of 35th Street & Union directly across the street from the lot. There are a number of popular businesses and eateries along nearby W 35th Street.

Interstate Mechanical and Construction will be acting as the general contractor on this project. The filing indicates that construction is expected to cost $300,000. A timeline or completion date for the project has not yet been revealed.

  1. Glad they didn’t knock down O’Malley’s for nothing! Will there be retail at the base of this? Would be sweet if a new and improved O’Malley’s moved back in.
