A new permit has been issued for a new three-story residential building located at 1405 W Juneway Terrace in the Rogers Park neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as Sheridan Mini Towers LLC and plans indicate this plan will yield three total units, a basement, and a detached, four-vehicle garage.

Michael S Cox is the architect of record. As of now, no drawings or renderings have been posted. Future residents will have CTA L access for the Red Line at the Howard station via a 13-minute walk southwest. Route 147 bus service can be found at Howard & Sheridan via a five-minute walk south.

Americare Healthcare Construction Company will serve as the general contractor for the $515,000 build. A timeline has not been announced.

  1. …inevitably this little bit of both Chicago history and civility will be gone. One could hope for uplifting architecture but the reality is it probably won’t be. “take paradise and put up a parking lot”

This is a bad example because this looks like a lovely character bungalow that shouldn’t be demo’ed. But you know full well this won’t be a parking lot. And a fair quantity of new build in the city are not nearly as bad as people pretend. (Although I wish they’d stop doing three level front pprches)

  3. What a shame.

  4. As a Rogers Parker, I remember the listing for this “as-is” property. The interior photos showed a severely neglected home. But even though I love the RP, and our mostly vintage housing stock, some new construction is welcome (NOT gentrifying teardown mania). IMO we need some options for people looking for new, but that also want to stay in this neighborhood.

People of the area should put up a petition to the city to stop tearing down our classic architecturally significant homes, bungalows, and buildings, especially on the North Side. On the North Side, they always tear down to build up. It’s more than enough vacant lots on the West, South, East, Southwest, and Southeast Sides for all these proposed cookie-cutter developments
