A demolition permit was issued earlier this week for a two-story masonry building located at 5242 W Chicago Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. The Westside Health Authority has been listed as the permit owner. At the time of this writing, no future plans appear to have been submitted to upgrade any of the zoning designations for this property.
The closest bus service available is for Route 66. This service can be found at the Chicago & Laramie which is just outside the entrance to the building. There are a number of popular businesses and eateries along nearby S Halsted Street.
Leeway Wrecker Inc is serving as the demolition contractor on this project. There is no indication as to a timeline for any future constructions.
