Construction is approaching completion for a new four-story residential building at Lincoln Park‘s 1877 N Halsted Street. A development by Tom Gibbons, the multi-family project will yield a total of 12 dwellings, a basement floor, indoor parking, and deck space on the second and rooftop levels. The new construction is replacing a one-story masonry commercial building and an adjacent vacant lot.
The design by Jonathan Splitt Architects includes a gray brick facade with decorative limestone accents, dark metal trimming along the windows, and recessed balconies.
Residents will have bus access to the major Route 8 thoroughfare, located at the adjacent 1900 N Halsted stops. Additional bus service can be found via a three-minute walk north to Armitage & Halsted, with service for Route 73. Closest CTA L service for the Brown and Purple Lines is available at Armitage station, a seven-minute walk northwest. Closest Red Line service, meanwhile, can be found via an eight-minute walk south to the North/Clybourn subway station.
Construction for the $5.5 million project has been carried out by Rye Builders, Inc. A full completion appears imminent by the end of this year.
