Permits were issued earlier this week for a new four-story residential building at 1367 W Hubbard Street near the southern edge of West Town. Filed under the name Variable Properties LLC – 1365 Series, the planned development will comprise three apartments, a basement, a rooftop deck, and a detached three-car garage. The structure is set to replace a two-story frame and masonry residential building.
Ronald Vari of Vari Architects is the listed architect, although neither drawings nor renderings have yet been revealed. However, multiple masonry contractors including in the filing suggest what will likely be a brick design.
Closest bus service can be found for Route 65 via a three-minute walk north. Meanwhile, stops for Routes 9 and X9 are slightly further via a seven-minute walk northwest. CTA L service is available for the Pink and Green Lines at Ashland station via a 10-minute walk southwest. Those looking to board the Blue Line will find Chicago station via a 12-minute walk northeast.
Residents will find nearest green space at Bickerdike Square Park via a seven-minute walk northwest. Various commercial corridors are also close by, including Grand Avenue and Fulton Market.
Variable Properties LLC is the general contractor for the $403,000 project. As far as timing, the developer has not indicated an anticipated completion date.
