Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story frame residence located at 825 W Buckingham Place in Lakeview East. The owner is listed under V&M Development, whose plans for the site comprise of a new four-story masonry building. This multi-unit residence will yield three total units, a basement, a rooftop deck, two dog houses, and a three-car garage.

Currently, it is unclear who the architect of record will be for the replacing structure. Additionally, no drawings or renderings have yet been revealed.

The site lies less than a minute walk from the Halsted & Aldine intersection, where residents will find north and southbound bus stops for Route 8. Additional bus transit includes Route 22 via three-minute walk southwest at Clark & School/Aldine, while other nearby service includes stops for Routes 36, 77, 151, 152, and 156. Residents will also find Brown, Purple, and Red Line access for the CTA L via a seven-minute walk southwest.

Various outdoor spaces line the vicinity, including Wendt Playlot Park, Evergreen Park, Martin Playlot Park, and the Belmont Harbor lakeside area within a 20-minute walk northeast.

Tir Conaill Concrete is the demolition contractor for the current structure. Currently, construction permits have been filed but not yet issued for the replacing residence, and details regarding the project timeline are not yet known.

    I live on this block of Buckingham. This building was like 2 years away from falling over on its own. Sorry to burst your bubble
