Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story residential building at 4347 N Winchester Avenue in North Center. Filed under TG Homes, LLC, the owner has not indicated what will replace the existing multi-unit building and its detached frame garage.
Additionally, no renderings or architect have been revealed. However, zoning shows the property designated as RS-3, which allows for detached single family homes and two-flats.
The lot lies just south of Winchester Avenue and Montrose Avenue. This intersection has east and westbound stops for Route 78, while north and southbound Route 50 stops can be found one block further west at Damen Avenue and Montrose Avenue. Other buses within a 10-minute walk include Route 22’s Clark & Montrose stop to the east, as well as Route 10’s Irving Park & Wolcott stop to the south. The nearest CTA L station is the Brown Line’s Montrose station, less than a two-minute walk northeast.
The nearest major park is the 15-acre Welles Park, located a nine-minute walk west. Next to the park runs the major commercial corridor of N Lincoln Avenue, which contains a variety of retail and dining options.
Sitepro Services Inc. has been listed as the wrecking contractor. A timeline for the demolition or replacing structure has not yet been revealed.
