Construction permits were recently issued for six adjacent townhomes at 3200 S Shields Avenue in Armour Square. Located just east of the Amtrak line, the residential development will replace a two-story industrial building that partially occupied the site prior to 2019.
Nearby bus transportation includes a four-minute walk east to route 24 and 31 at the 3200 S Wentworth stop. CTA L access includes a seven-minute walk southeast to the northern end of Sox-35th station. As far as additional points of interest, Armour (Philip) Square Park is a five-minute walk southeast, while the White Sox’s Guaranteed Rate Field is an eight-minute walk southeast.
The developer is filed under AP Shields Property LLC. Permits issued detail three-story townhomes, with a rooftop deck, a rooftop enclosure, and a two-car garage within each structure.

Three days after 3200 S Shields Avenue, AP Shields received construction permits for 3201 S Stewart Avenue, a similar address indicating the same lot on Google Maps. However, it is unclear if AP Shields is planning two developments or just one.
A & SL Construction is listed as the general contractor for the project estimated to cost $1,933,500. A completion date has not yet been announced.
