The currently empty lot is surrounded by primarily multi-family residential buildings, as well as the nearby United Center, less than a six-minute walk southeast from the property.
Nearby bus transit includes a one-minute walk east to the Damen & Washington stop, serviced by route 50 as well as a four-minute walk southwest to the Madison & Hoyne stop, serviced by route 20. The closest accessible CTA L access can be found via the Green and Pink Lines’ Ashland stop, a 14-minute walk east. Additional access to the Blue Line can be found at the Illinois Medical District station and Western station, a 12-minute walk south and a 20-minute walk southwest, respectively.
The owner, listed under Franklin Holdings LLC Twenty Eight Series, is planning six units total throughout the building, as well as a rooftop deck, a rooftop enclosure, and two detached three-car garages. The architect of record is listed as John C Hanna of Hanna Architects. While no renderings have been posted, multiple masonry contractor contacts suggest a brick or stone facade.
NL Investments LLC is serving as the general contractor for the $1,728,200 project. A timeline or expected completion date has yet to be announced.
