Bally’s Chicago Casino gets four demolition permits for Chicago Tribune Freedom Center

Four demolition permits were issued by the City of Chicago Monday for 651 West Chicago Avenue, or what used to be the Chicago Tribune Freedom Center. This is the second phase of demolitions making space for Bally’s Chicago Casino, after a single-story metal building at 700 West Erie was demolished earlier this month. Brandenburg Industrial Services is the demolition contractor for the casino project.

Demolition has begun for Bally’s Chicago Casino

The first demolition to make way for the new Bally’s Chicago Casino has begun along the Chicago River in West Town. The City of Chicago issued a demo permit for 700 West Erie Street on August 2, with Brandenburg Industrial Service Company serving as the demolition contractor. A single-story metal building that was most recently the home of a U-Haul rental facility, it sits on the southwest corner of the development site, at the intersection of Erie and Halsted.

Bally’s Casino Scores Funding And New Design In River West

Initial financing and updated renderings have been revealed for the upcoming Bally’s permanent Chicago casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Sitting just east of the intersection with N Halsted Street, the project will replace the former Chicago Tribune site which received demolition permits recently. The casino has been in the making for a few years and led by Bally’s with a large design team including famed firm HKS Architects.

Further Renderings Revealed As City Approves Revised Casino Plans

More formalized renderings have been revealed for the revisions to the upcoming Bally’s casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Last month we broke the news that the previously approved casino complex will be partially redesigned due to issues with the city’s water lines. Now the new design, led by SCB, Gensler, Site Design Group, Urbanworks, STL Architects, and NIA Architects, was approved by the city yesterday.

Revised plans have been revealed for the upcoming Bally’s casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Located on the corner with N Halsted Street and replacing the Chicago Tribune printing facility, developer Bally’s has begun the bidding and permit process with revised plans for the complex. The property is being designed by SCB, Gensler, Site Design Group, Urbanworks, STL Architects, and NIA Architects among others.
