The City of Chicago on Wednesday October 28 issued a permit to allow the construction of a three-story plus basement, two-unit home at 1733 West Julian Street in the Wicker Park neighborhood. Coming through with a reported cost of $475,000, the permit waited in the data portal for 153 days after its application start date of May 28. MK Construction & Builders of Bucktown is the developer and general contractor.

The permit names KLLM Architects, also of Bucktown, as the architect of record. Details for the project call for occupiable roof decks atop the residences and a detached two-car EVSE-ready masonry garage, which will also have a pergola. Six-foot wood and iron fences will enclose the property. The permit does not indicate if the new units will be rentals or for sale, but two homes across four levels may indicate they will be one duplex-down condo and one duplex-up.

A permit has been pending since September 23 to demolish the existing two-unit residence built in 1897. Real estate records show MK Construction purchasing the property for $693,000 back in August. The home is located at the front of the lot; there is no garage structure at the rear.
