A Vernon Hills developer has received their second permit in the past four weeks to construct three-flat residences on South St. Lawrence Avenue in Grand Boulevard. Square Construction landed the first permit, for 4844 South St. Lawrence, on March 18, following that up with an identical permit on April 13 to build at 4842 South St. Lawrence. Both permits show application start dates of January 29, and they each came through with reported costs of $500,000 apiece.

Pro-Plan Architects is the architect of record, and the specifications for the two new buildings match the specs for a permit this same team received for another Grand Boulevard three-flat in July of last year. A detached three-car garage will be erected on each lot off the rear alley accessed from East 49th Street, and the residential structures will include rear metal porches. No other architectural details are addressed in the permits. Square Construction will be their own general contractor. It is not clear if the six new units will be for sale or for rent.
