535 North Lawndale will be a two-story plus basement building containing three residential units. A rear stairway will connect decks on both floors, and a concrete pad on the alley spanning Ohio Street to Ferdinand Street will have three surface parking spaces. The application to build was filed on February 20th of this year, and it comes with a reported construction cost of $665,000.
544 North Lawndale will also be a two-story building with a basement, but will include one fewer dwelling unit. There will be a deck at the rear of the first floor, and two surface parking spaces will be added off the C-shaped alley mid-block. An application for the property was filed on May 5, 2025, and the permit indicates a reported construction cost of $486,000. Both parcels are currently vacant, so there will be no demolition permits needed for construction to get started.
